Before getting into what Ojaswu is, explaining the roots of our name will give you a better understanding of what we intend to do with this platform.
Ojaswu is comprised of two words – Ojas and Wu.
Ojas (ओजस्) is the essential energy for the body and mind that is gathered from eating pure and nourishing foods. In Sanskrit, ojas means “vigor” and in the practice of Ayurveda, ojas is thought to be responsible for vitality, strength, health, long life, immunity and mental/emotional wellness. The location of ojas within the body is at the heart and having a balanced diet is one of the many ways a person can invigorate their ojas.
When learning about the concept of ojas, we just fell in love with it. The idea of so many factors being a part of making whole and healthy resonated with our vision of wanting help around us to attain optimal health. With the concept of ojas and we wanted to bring our version and interpretation to life with Ojaswu and that’s were Wu comes in.
Wu (五) is Mandarin for the number 5. We have taken the knowledge of ancient forms of healing within Ayurveda and Chinese medicine and have come up with 5 elements of our lives that we need to consider when trying to attain optimal wellness and overall health. When these 5 Elements of Ojas are practiced, developed, improved and/or maintained, ojas is built and that leads to overall wellness, where becoming aware of making choices towards a healthy and fulfilling life is the norm.
